KOTA RELIQUARIES. Between Sacred and Contemporary is one of the rare European exhibitions to present a core collection of African reliquaries — a powerful testament to cultural diversity and to the impact of African art on contemporary creativity.
Mémoires d’Afrique is meant not only as a celebration of Nigerian art, but also as an opportunity to reflect on the connections between past and present, between the local and the global.
An exhibition in collaboration with Moduli D’Arte, the Carlo Zinelli Foundation, and Artep Italia, as part of a project dedicated to promoting the artistic legacy of Carlo Zinelli.
A selection of works from his Totem cycles, created between 1994 and 1997, is presented in dialogue with indigenous masks and sculptures from the MAC collection — a search for affinities, connections, and resonances between artistic contexts and creative paths.
