Trio of small kachina dolls. The one on the right bears a flower-shaped symbol on the superstructure, while the zig-zag lines represent a Pueblo pictogram symbolising lightning. The doll on the left, on the other hand, has black and white horizontal stripes, characteristic of a Koshari or Hano Clown Kachina. This character, adopted by the Pueblos Tewa of New Mexico, serves as a reminder of inappropriate behaviour and to correct it through satire.
Both have movable arms, a typical feature of the Zuni style, while the doll in the centre has its arms attached to the body, a peculiarity of the Hopi tradition.
