An exhibition in collaboration with Moduli D’Arte, the Carlo Zinelli Foundation, and Artep Italia, as part of a project dedicated to promoting the artistic legacy of Carlo Zinelli. The exhibition brings together works by Zinelli and primitive masks and sculptures from the MAC collection, offering a meaningful opportunity to highlight the connection between Art Brut and primitive arts. It reveals the profound affinities between these expressive forms and their shared transcendence of conventional artistic norms.
Carlo Zinelli (1916–1974) is one of the foremost international figures of Art Brut. He began his artistic journey in the Atelier of Michele Nobile and gained recognition following his participation in the Insania Ingens exhibition at the Kunsthalle in Bern in 1963.
His works are part of prestigious collections, such as the Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne — founded by Jean Dubuffet in 1976 — and the Collection du Centre Pompidou.
