One of the distinguishing features of the boho na bwete of the Manongwe, who inhabit the areas near Mékambo, is the broad, concave face, often inspired by the silhouette of the black-necked cobra (Naja nigricollis). This snake, feared and respected for its venom and threatening behavior, lends the shape of the relic an aura of vigilance and protection.
